ACOSVO January Update: A message from ACOSVO CEO Lucinda Godfrey

I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible over the year, hearing your stories and learning from your experiences and wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Publishing our new Strategic Plan was a significant milestone and the team and Board have been working together to ensure the changes you seek show up over the years ahead. Managing change in the current context isn’t easy and I’m very proud of the team who have continued to deliver for our membership. We now have clarity on our direction, and we are all energised and ready to get it done!

Our activity will continue to change and evolve over the year some refreshing and updating, some completely new activity and some things will be stopping. We will be increasing our engagement and creating more opportunities for you to network and learn from each other, the knowledge and insights in our membership is our greatest asset and we need to be a platform for it.

We will have several new colleagues joining us and Alison Hopper, our new Head of Operations starts in March. Alison brings significant operations experience as well as an energy and drive that will ensure our strategic plan is operationalised to have the maximum impact for our members. This is a very exciting time to join ACOSVO and I am very much looking forward to working with Alison in our new senior leadership team to realise our ambitions. As we start 2025, I am fully aware that your relationship to it will be on a broad spectrum but wherever on that spectrum you find yourself I hope that we can offer something that enhances your connections and learning and gives you inspiration and practical support to get to where you want to go in 2025.

I’m starting the year by thanking you for the last one, your contribution, insights, and support to us and other members makes ACOSVO what it is, so thank you!

For the past two years we have worked with, and listened to, our members to fully understand what they need from ACOSVO. We have worked hard to ensure we keep the services and events that you find the most beneficial.

What Is NOT Changing at ACOSVO:

We have reviewed our activity and after careful consideration, and taking into account feedback from our membership, we made the decision to discontinue various events and services. We believe this will give us the opportunity to grow and develop new approaches that better align with the needs of our membership.

What IS Changing at ACOSVO:

As we test new activity, we aren’t afraid to sometimes get it wrong, in fact we expect to, and we are asking for your help so that we learn fast. We actively encourage your feedback, what’s working well and what we can do better.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at office@acosvo.org.uk
